The Euractive Event „The EU Fertiliser Action Plan, ETS, CBAM and the Fertiliser Industry“ takes place hybrid

The event is divided into two panels addressing current policy and market challenges facing the European fertiliser industry in the context of decarbonisation, competitiveness and food security.
The first panel focuses on the EU Fertiliser Action Plan and discusses how affordability for farmers, strategic autonomy and the transition to low-carbon fertiliser production can be balanced. Topics include resilience of the European fertiliser market, support measures for domestic production, access to energy and raw materials, and the role of low-carbon and circular fertilisers in achieving climate and industrial policy goals.
The second panel examines the impact of the EU Emissions Trading System (ETS) and the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) on the fertiliser industry. Discussions will address competitiveness, carbon leakage, long-term investment challenges and policy frameworks needed to support industrial transformation while maintaining fertiliser production and food security in Europe.
