IWA Resource Recovery Conference 2025

The 6th edition of the IWA Resource Recovery Conference titled „From Novel Concepts to Business“ takes places

from 19th to 23rd May 2025
Leeuwarden, Fryslân, the Netherlands

The conference is hosted in Leeuwarden (the Netherlands), the capital of water technology this year. This event is organized by Wetsus in collaboration with Delft University of Technology and Wageningen University and Research.

This conference aims to showcase and celebrate the experiences, lessons, and results from over 15 years of experimentation and upscaling in the field of resource recovery worldwide. The time has come to transform these achievements from conceptual ideas into tangible business models. While resource recovery remains an inspiring topic, the journey has been challenging, offering valuable lessons in scaling up innovative technologies and developing new markets.

The conference is designed to serve as a meeting point between academia and industry, fostering mutual learning and inspiration to support the development of impactful and scalable solutions. A special focus will be placed on highlighting the contributions of future water leaders—Young Water Professionals—and on strengthening the connection with policymakers to ensure that legal frameworks support, rather than hinder, the potential of resource recovery.

Shaping the future and enhancing current practices require collaboration. This event provides an ideal platform for engaging discussions and the creation of meaningful connections. All participants are warmly invited to Leeuwarden to contribute to making circular resource use a practical reality.

In addition to the conference sessions, a range of accompanying activities will be offered, including both social events and a technical tour to deepen engagement and exchange. The deadline for online registration is 01.05.2025. Further information on registration fees and detailed program can be found on the conference website following the links below.
