EU Fertilisers Regulation – plant and organic material circular economy
The European Sustainable Phosphorus Platform is organizing a working meeting for EU Fertilisers Regulation decision makers and stakeholders about the circular economy for plant and organic materials.
The meeting takes place
on 11th April 2018
14h00 – 17h15 (welcome coffee etc. 13h30)
at the Renaissance Marriott Hotel, 15 rue du Parnasse, 1050 Brussels, Belgium (close to the European Parliament)
This meeting will address:
- how the circular economy already functions today for plant and organic materials and by-products
- opportunities and challenges in the EU Fertilisers Regulation for further fostering this circular economy
and solutions to avoid blocking important organics recycling markets - CMC2 (plant materials): promoting innovation and ensuring sufficient safeguards with regard to plant pathogens and invasive plant species
- CMC6 (food industry by-products): understanding the wide range of food industry by-products revalorised today and finding ways to improve the coverage of CMC6
- Understanding interactions between CMCs 2 and 6 and CMC3 (compost), CMCs 4 and 5 (digestates)
- Addressing how these CMCs are impacted by the question of “by-products”, REACH requirements, certification, processing and material definitions
