18. International RAMIRAN Conference

The Recycling of Agricultural, Municipal and Industrial Residues in Agriculture Network RAMIRAN invites to their 18. International conference with the overall theme “Sustainable utilisation of manures and residue resources in agriculture”. RAMIRAN 2023 will be organised by ADAS, Rothamsted Research and Bangor University.

The conference takes place

from 12 to 14 September 2023
in the historic university city of Cambridge, UK.

RAMIRAN is a research and expertise network dealing with environmental issues relating to the use of livestock manure and other organic residues in agriculture. This conference is the primary output of the network which is held every two years and attracts up to 250 delegates from across Europe and further afield. The conference will focus on new cutting edge strategies to improve the efficiency of manure and residue management which will be explored across the full spectrum of research, from theory to implementation and adoption by stakeholders.

The conference will focus on developing strategies to maximise the efficiency of organic materials against a background of changing regulation, policy and market forces and increasing pressure on the environment, soil quality and food production. Oral and poster presentations are invited to cover the full spectrum of research, from theory to implementation and adoption by stakeholders. The conference will include sessions on

  • policy and regulation
  • nutrient utilisation
  • soil quality
  • air and water quality
  • treatment and processing technologies
  • promoting best practice.
